George Denny

George Denny is the mystery man in the Denny line.

Later census records indicated that he was born in 1800 but did not indicate where or to whom. He appeared in Calloway Co., KY to buy land in Wadesboro in 1825. He married Ruth Peter in 1827 in Calloway Co., KY where they had 6 children:
Mary "Polly" Denny (1829-?), Nancy Denny (1832-1921), and James R. Denny (1833-1912) Elizabeth Ann Denny (1835-?), William Peter Denny (1836-1909) and Arena G. Denny (1839/40-?). George was appointed commissioner for the building of a courthouse in Calloway Co. in 1830. He was listed as a buyer at several estate sales in 1837 and 1838. In June 1839 he is listed as the Justice of Peace for the appraisal of an estate and 8 months later, his own estate is being sold! No probate, no death certificate, no tombstone, no guardianship papers...he dies as mysteriously as he arrived at the age of 40.
